Over
the years we have created furniture for at least a half dozen historic sites and museums from San Francisco to Delaware. For
Fort Delaware, a Civil War fort on an island in Delaware, we created many pieces of furniture, most grain painted in a vernacular
style. These three desks were recreated based on sketches made of an office at the fort during the Civil War by a soldier
serving there. For the building wherein was located the officer's quarters, we revived the long forgotten art of
"floated marble" in marbleizing the buildings half dozen slate fireplace mantles.
