We created
a pair of these corner cabinets which were based on one in a major collection, changes were made to accommodate the customer's
needs. The large shell carvings were carved from "bricked" poplar, each weighing in at about 30lbs. each. Side lights
were added behind the columns on either side to illuminate the homeowner's pottery collection. Not too visible in these
photos is the cracked and alligatored finish, with chips missing to reveal previous colors of paint, worn edges, and bits
of wood missing, all helping to replicating the look of the original.
