In keeping with the tradition of grain painted
tall clocks made in New England during the first quarter of the nineteenth century. This clock, painted in a vernacular style
to resemble tiger striped maple, with a faux crotch grained mahogany door. Also incorporated is an old soundboard from a Steinway
Model B, here used as the clock's backboard, giving it a lovely rich sound when it strikes. We have handpainted the wood
face in a federal style with raised and gold leafed ornament. A carved wooden mouse resides in the pediment.
